I kind of felt the same way about the block and force floor section but I was unsure what to do about it, so I left it in. I think it's a bit more fair because you don't have to actually do anything with any of the blocks.
It's not really a maze anymore though. It used to be nonlinear but I don't know if that version even ever saw light.
