Who wants to try to grab the "chipschallenge.com" domain name after it expires?

Maybe I'm wrong, but if the domain really does expire, wouldn't it just be up for grabs for anyone to take at the standard domain registration fee of $10 or so? Or is that not how it works when a domain expires?

If it's only 10 bucks then I'm buying it!
