This is a useless exercise in futility. If you want to make it interesting, then questions about the number should be permitted. for instance, Is the number a 'real' number or irrational? or a prime? or even/uneven? or divisible by 3? Or, is it greater than quantity X? or less than quantity Y? Then you could do it in a manner similar to the 20 questions game.

That sounds nice. Should we wait for Chipwoodstock to come back and answer our questions or should someone else imagine a number?
