An occasional cheap gambling exception like Rock's is fine just for the fun of it, but I personally hate casinoes, they smell like cigarettes and crap. Plus, I'm underage, duh. This is why I love poker and other gambling games for M&M's, haha.

Poker Heart <3 Heart

Blackjack w/ card counting Thumbs up

Most other casino games: Confused (when played for real $)

Poker has always been fun for me, although for the longest time I didn't take it that seriously and approximately broke even over the long run. Over the last couple months I've slowly been studying the game, and the knowledge I've learned combined with me actually taking the game seriously has turned me into a winning player. (I actually have somebody providing money for me to play with in exchange for a part of my profits). I'm nowhere near at the level I would need to make a full living off it, but it's providing a nice bit of side income for university...and the sky's the limit for moving up in stakes, so who knows.

(inb4 "making a living with poker is unrealistic" or "there's no strategy at poker": the entire memberbase of http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/ disagrees with you)

Pretty much everything else that comes with a house edge: Confused (when played for real $)

Let's just say we'll have to agree to disagree, and I sure hope you don't make a living off it. Better to find a secure income to live off. Thumbs up

Poker is secure source of income if 1) you are a winning player and 2) you follow proper bankroll management. Slight smile

I can give you an illustration of #2.

Player A risks 10% of his bank account at a time. Player B keeps his poker funds separate from his life funds and only risks 1% of his poker funds at a time. Player A is destined to go broke even if he's massively pro, whereas Player B can barely be a winning player and yet will see his winnings grow over time.
