  A few awards
Posted by: chipster1059 - 10-Nov-2014, 6:06 PM - Forum: Awards - Replies (7)

Here are a few awards for which I think I am eligible:

One Star Fun: http://cczone.invisionzone.com/index.php?/files/file/334-nefertari/

Spyro the Dragon: http://cczone.invisionzone.com/index.php?/files/file/425-c1059-1dat/

Level 43. It's the yeti in SkiFree.

CCLP2 Graduate: http://cczone.invisionzone.com/index.php?/files/file/426-cclp2-ms-by-chipster1059/

Blue Ribbon: http://cczone.invisionzone.com/index.php?/files/file/410-cclp2-lynx-original-by-chipster1059/

I don't know if it still applies now that we have the CCLXP2 Beta?

Thanks in advance.

  CCLP2 MS by Chipster1059
Posted by: chipster1059 - 10-Nov-2014, 6:02 PM - Forum: Tile World Save Files - No Replies

File category: TWS Files

This is my TWS file for CCLP2 in MS. All 149 levels have been solved. The last level solved was Patrolled. As far as I know, this TWS file does not contain a single bold.

Hey guys I passed pieguy at something [meaningless]
Posted by: Ihavenoname248 - 02-Nov-2014, 11:38 PM - Forum: Awards - Replies (18)

ChipFAQs (5):

http://cczone.invisionzone.com/index.php?/tutorials/article/3-ultimate-chip-3dat/

Was previously approved, but then I added more and it disappeared again. This will probably keep happening, but I still put one up Tongue

Super Chip (5):

Marble Blast (5):

http://cczone.invisionzone.com/index.php?app=iArcade&section=scores&game=65

Shows that I scored 36400, which is more than 36000.

Left 4 Chip (5):

I entered the October survival. This will probably be awarded when the results are posted. Included here for totaling purposes.

And the numbers:

pieguy - 290g (13 awards)

AdrenalinDragon - 270g (34 awards)

geodave - 270g (20 awards)

rockdet - 250g (26 awards)

Bowman - 220g (11 awards)

ihavenoname248 - 215g (18 awards) [This does not include my "Gotta Solve 'Em All", or "CCLP2 Graduate" awards, totaling 70g]

215+70+(5*4)=305, dropping me 5 behind Tyler and 30 behind Ben. Without CC1MS, CCLP3MS, CCLP3Lynx or a competition win...yet Tongue

  Owned by Blobs: 1
Posted by: Ihavenoname248 - 02-Nov-2014, 11:36 PM - Forum: Comics and Memes - No Replies

I think this sort of thing has happened to more people than they'd liked to admit.

I'll probably make more similarly shenanigans (and unlikely!) scenarios where a blob can cause silly deaths in other levels, but this is the first that came to mind.

Posted by: chipster1059 - 30-Oct-2014, 12:38 PM - Forum: CC1 Level Packs - No Replies

File category: CC1 Levelsets

This is my first major levelset. It contains 50 levels. All have been tested and solved in both Lynx and MS, except level 49, which is Lynx only.

Discuss here:

http://cczone.invisionzone.com/index.php?/topic/930-c1059-1/

DAC files are included.

I hope you enjoy these levels. Please leave feedback so I can improve future sets.

Confirmed solvable? Lynx: yes. MS: yes except level 49.

  CCLXP2 Busted level
Posted by: Syzygy - 20-Oct-2014, 2:38 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (9)

Level 119 (Teeth) is unsolvable because of the position of the teeth, and the green toggle wall doesn't hold him back for the time needed to move away from the bombs. Can someone please fix the level and re-release it?

I would suggest either moving the teeth to position 20,7 or add another toggle wall at 18,11.

  Know any easy levelsets?
Posted by: Ida - 09-Oct-2014, 11:28 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (8)

I have a little friend, Isac, of four years old, who likes to borrow my phone and play the only game that is there. The game is Will's World which is a CC clone for Iphone. But he can only complete a few of the levels and gets very frustrated when they are too hard. Plus, it's more difficult to race monsters etc with the touch pad than on a keyboard.

So, does anyone have any suggestion of levelsets with child friendly levels? Either the whole set is simple or at least a bunch of the first levels in the set. Will's world will need an url pointing directly to the levelset.

Many thanks in advance!

(OT, what happened to the Newsgroup? Or is it only me that can't seem to find it anymore?)

October 2014 Create Competition - Ice Ice Baby
Posted by: M11k4 - 06-Oct-2014, 2:36 AM - Forum: Competitions - Replies (2)

The task for this month is simple: Create a new level that uses an ice block.

This means you will need to familiarize yourself with the ice block patch to either MSCC or TileWorld 1 if you already haven't done that. If you need help, please ask. It seems the wiki page for ice blocks could be updated to include some of this info so we really should update that too.

For extra credit, take a portion of an existing official level and apply ice blocks to it. For a simple example, you might take an existing sokoban and change all the blocks to ice blocks. Ideally this could highlight some curious feature or bring out something new in the existing design. I am very interested to see how you guys will find some new takes on familiar territory.

I will judge the competition at the start of November. The things I am looking for are:

1) Could the level be made without ice blocks?
If so, then this is not a good thing for your level. Basically, just use one of the properties of ice blocks that normal blocks don't have and you will do fine with regards to this point.

2) Is the level fun to play?
Block pushing levels can be a chore, but there are several ways to make them interesting. Even pure sokobans can be great, but they need a lot of work to design just right. If your level is very long, it will also need to be very good for me to like it more.

3) Would I build this level any differently?
This question is here basically as a general measure of how the level is designed and I just needed a short way of saying that. This includes things like aesthetics, originality, and some measure of planning put into the level.

4) Does the extra credit apply to the level?
The extra credit is not needed to win the competition if your level is otherwise brilliant, but it will decide between two similar levels in favor of the one that uses it. Partially the point of having this criteria is to encourage people to build something new instead of submitting something unreleased. It also gives participants some sort of jumping off point for design if nothing else comes to mind.

Other guidelines are as follows:
-Send in your submissions to either CCZoneNextLevel at gmail dot com or valeosote at hotmail dot com.
-Submissions are open as long as it is October 2014 where you live.
-The level must be solvable, and does not need to work in Lynx.
-Please give the level a reasonable name, hint, time limit, and set a password.
-You may submit more than one entry, but please keep the levels distinct from each other.
-You may write about 100 words describing your creation and the process of creating it.
-Entrants receive the normal prizes: the "You're Winner!"-award, Chip Cup points, and "Tool Box"-award for first time entrants.
-Please ask about other unclear situations.

Enjoy!

-Miika
