Thumbs.db

Does anyone know what Thumbs.db (database) is for? It once came with a custom set I downloaded, but It dosen't look like something neccesary. I'd just like to know what it's for to make sure it's not virus or something.

I googled thumbs.db and found http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_thu...#Thumbs.db, which says the file is made by Windows to store thumbnail images of files in that folder. It should be okay to delete.

It just stores the icons for the files in that folder, so Windows can load and display them more quickly.

(And it's a real pain when you're trying to edit an icon manually, and Windows insists on continuing to use the version stored in Thumbs.db! Tongue )
