  CCEdit 2.0
Posted by: mobius - 26-Oct-2013, 3:15 PM - Forum: Programs and Editors - Replies (6)

okay, this is a ridiculous problem I know but I can't find where to get CCEdit 2.0. Raised eyebrow

[i'm talking about the newest editor, the one that displays a square around the cursor which represents the playing view.]

Somebody handed me a link in chat months ago, and that's how I first got it. My computer broke down so I have to re-download it. I can't find it doing a simple search on google or yahoo, it's not here, it's not on the yahoo group. wtf... am I just missing something?

also; an unrelated question: how do you enable skipping passwords in both tileworlds? [go to any level without need of a password]

DOPEFISH LIVES, AMONG CHIPSTERS AND WIKIPEDIA!
Posted by: Chipwoodstock - 25-Oct-2013, 10:04 PM - Forum: Level Discussion - Replies (10)

I know a lot of people know about this hidden easter egg, but in CCLP2's level "Use the Fish", there is an easter egg that, when certain things are done, you get the message "DOPE FISH LIVES". We all know about this running gag and in-joke, yadda yadda, everybody probably knows about it.

But fun fact; recently this cameo got on Wikipedia's list of Dopefish Mentions. Yes, this mention of dopefish got CCLP2 on Wikipedia for the mention. I dunno if I should laugh or be happy. Chip Win

  Tile world in Linux/Ubuntu
Posted by: mobius - 18-Oct-2013, 12:39 PM - Forum: Programs and Editors - Replies (6)

I found Tile world through the Ubunutu software center and it works great on this Computer. Except one major problem:

How do you play custom levelsets? Despite trying for a long time I can't figure out for the life of me how the Ubunutu file system works and I don't know "where" to put levelsets. Or how to get an editor working for that matter... I'm guessing that's impossible however.

can anybody help me out?

  Why clone machine under anything?
Posted by: Hash1 - 14-Oct-2013, 2:29 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (3)

A clone machine under anything is an "internationally known" way to make that thing a wall. But, why cloning machines? Can't you put an actual wall under anything and get the same effect? However, a cloning machine under anything is more common than a wall under anything Raised eyebrow.

  Hurt and Heal: CC1
Posted by: AdrenalinDragon - 12-Oct-2013, 5:15 PM - Forum: Games and Trivia - Replies (1379)

+1 for the level you want to heal, -2 for the level you want to hurt. A level will be eliminated from the round when it hits 0.

Copy and paste the latest post reply, then make your changes with +1 and -2 to your choices and numbers.

Rules - No double posting! Wait until at least three different people after you have responded minimum before you play again and post!

NOTE - If a level you want to give a -2 score to has only 1 remaining, the -2 vote must be shared with another level.

  Important Editor Using advice
Posted by: Hash1 - 11-Oct-2013, 1:46 PM - Forum: General Discussion - No Replies

Guys (and not guys), Every single editor seems to have saving problems. Just this day I was editing a levelset, I took two levels, cut them from that set, opened another set, and pasted those levels there. When I went back to my other set, ALL the levels were gone, dissapeared! I closed the editor and opened it again, opening the same set just to make sure it wasn't just me, but the levels still weren't there. Now, good thing that I make a new copy of each levelset after making changes to them, or else after seeing that all that time spended on working on the set was wasted, I'd make an expression a little something like:

And after that, I'd quit being a level maker for the rest of eternity.

I've been saving a copy since I once used CCEdit (the CCTools editor), and I clicked save, and the level turned into what it looked like an earlier time I saved (more unfinished). The problem I described at the beginning happend with CCDesign.

Now, I'm not telling you what you should or shouldn't do, but I just highly recommend making a copy of each .dat, .ccl, or whatever levelset you have just modified, right after making changes, either every time after you just made changes, or every time after an x number of changes have been made.

Well, some of you already knew this (or most of you already knew this), but this basically goes to anyone who didn't know about editor saving problems.
