  Timing circuits
Posted by: _H_ - 29-Feb-2016, 3:56 PM - Forum: Level Discussion - Replies (1)

Here is an easily adjustable and most importantly reliable version of a timer as an example: Edge-triggered Timing Slight smile
The delay can be set by the distance between a button and a cloning machine, so no knowledge about circuits is needed for using them.
Some parts of the circuit are just necessary, if the resulting signal effects the a block directly adjacent to the starting position of Chip or Melinda or another movable object to them, or a monster,... in a level, you can easily remove them to make the mechanism simpler, if not needed...

Triggered by a signal change from low to high or high to low, it will keep a signal for a specified amount of time, without having to worry about a retrigger while the timer is running.

Stepping of a button, to start the timing in some cases as well can feel more natural.

This set is for CCLP4 consideration and has a word document to go along with it with notes/information/questions about the set and some of the levels in it. (At the time of uploading this I do not know where/how to attach said word file though, so I am attaching it as screenshots for now).

  Hello all

I've been registered for quite some time and never got around to greeting everyone before.

My name is Rory, and I'm currently an undergraduate student of music composition.

The history I have with Chip's Challenge is rather funny, as I discovered the game by pure chance - I came across the title ever-so-occasionally in passing, not even knowing what kind of game it was, and one day finally decided to look it up. 5-6 years ago, I first found a copy of the Microsoft version that I was able to play on my 32-bit notebook at the time, but my bond was was still tenuous. However, over time, I tried the game on other systems, such as the Commodore 64, Commodore Amiga, and DOS and started to like it much, much more. Now, I primarily use Tile World 2, but have also enjoyed Chuck's Challenge 3D and Chip's Challenge 2 on steam.

I look forward to contributing and interacting some more here, especially once my studies wind down within the next few months!
