I found out a way to get Chip's Challenge DOS port running on Windows, NO EMULATOR!

Note: This does NOT work on 64-bit computers!

1) Get Chip's challenge DOS port from anywhere you want

2) Open the command prompt (cmd.exe)

3) CD to where the files are located

4) Hit alt-enter (This is important!)

5) Type loadfix chips and hit enter

6) Hit enter

7) Select these options

4 - VGA

A - roland

K - keyboard

8) Now hit enter

9) The game should have loaded

Enjoy Slight smile

For fast performance, close all programs.

Here's the controls:

x - Exit

h - Pause

spacebar - Next screen

Up - up

Down - down

Left - left

Right - right

To exit full screen, hit alt-enter (Note: the game will crash if you do this while the game is running)

I remember poking around with the DOS port for fun. Did anyone create a tool which converts the Windows DAT format to the format that DOS used?

Hm, some old topic right here.

Yes, you can run Chip's Challenge DOS in windows, but it will run slowly (if you have Windows NT/2000/XP/Vista/7/8/8.1)

DOSBox is another option.
