  Chip56.ccl (updated; was Chip55.ccl)
Posted by: Pottsie - 13-Jul-2012, 12:34 PM - Forum: Under Construction - Replies (10)

Hello, everyone! This is my first level set.

http://cczone.invisi.../134-chip56ccl/

(EDIT: Updated again, July 30th - see below)

I've designed levels before, back when I was a kid, but these are the first ones I've ever released into the wild. Consider them a preview of what I hope will eventually be a full 149-level set. I started this before CCLP1 was announced, and I was aiming for a similar CC1-esque aesthetic, so when the submission deadline approached I stuck all the completed levels into a mini-set (55 levels, hence the original name) and uploaded it to the Yahoo group. In my rush to meet the deadline, I left in a few mistakes, which I've corrected in this update.

The "lesson" levels are probably redundant, since I'm guessing those will be chosen outside of the normal submission process. A few of the later levels might also be a bit tricky for a beginner's set, but I think the underlying concepts are simple enough to fit in anyway. If not, consider them available for CCLP4 as well.

Here are the revisions I made:

  • Changed the direction of a force floor tile in Level 2. Very minor effect on play, but it looked ugly and was an obvious mistake.

  • Changed the sokoban area in Level 29 to make it solvable in Lynx mode.

  • Removed the time limit on Level 37 (was 750 seconds). There's plenty of time to complete the level, but nobody should ever feel compelled to optimize that, ever. Tongue

  • Fixed the ice maze in Level 45 that I somehow completely messed up and made unsolvable in the original version.

  • Added a dummy level at the end for MSCC players. I changed the name of the file from Chip55 to Chip56 to reflect that, plus it's a catchier title anyway.

I'm going to leave the old version on the Yahoo group for now, since it's after the deadline and I don't want to accidentally run afoul of the rules and take my levels out of the running, but this is the version I would like to be considered for CCLP1. I'll replace the old file if the folks in charge confirm that it's OK to do that.

As this is my first level set, any feedback would be much appreciated.

This is it. The second edition of KTNUSA.dat is out with over 40 all new levels featuring block madness, Indiana Jones tactics, and other things you can find on this set. I'm sure that a couple of the levels from this set will be on CCLP1 or CCLP4. There are brand new levels into this set to make it longer than the first set.

CC Zone has added CCLP1 Staff group!
Posted by: AdrenalinDragon - 09-Jul-2012, 12:03 PM - Forum: Announcements - Replies (12)

All CCLP1 staff now have their own exclusive group on CC Zone named "CCLP1 Staff" (Which are highlighted in "Green"). This is only temporarily, so when CCLP1 is released, their original status will go back. Also, the only member I have left to find is The Architect, so if anyone lets me know who that is I'd be very grateful. Thanks! Thumbs up

What creeped you out when you were little?

So, we already have a thread for present-day phobias, but what about things that creeped you out when you were a kid? I for one was creeped out by people with tattoos or multiple or non-ear piercings (all of which I eventually outgrew). What about you?

My CCLP1 submissions condensed into one set.
Posted by: Lessinath - 03-Jul-2012, 10:23 PM - Forum: CCLP Discussions - No Replies

You can find it here:

http://cczone.invisionzone.com/index.php?/files/file/132-lessinath-cclp1-final-submission/

There is one important note. This being that all my other submissions can be considered as withdrawn, because most of those levels are here anyways and having duplicate levels submitted would just screw up testing.

If you think you've seen these levels from me before, you're probably right. Only some of the first 25 levels are new.

RE: WorldMap.dat --Level 32 'Control Room'

Because level 32 was the last level created for the levelset ---just in the last two days before the CCLP1 deadline....

I didn't have enough time to thoroughly test the level....as it is a very complicated level...but, I wanted to have the level included in the levelset for consideration, etc.

However, I have just found out that the level has some problems with some toggle doors

Thus, I hope to have the level fixed by July 4 th.

For those of you that have already downloaded the levelset, I'm sorry!
