  London 2012 Olympics Thread
Posted by: AdrenalinDragon - 27-Jul-2012, 6:57 PM - Forum: General - Replies (8)

Well guys. I'd thought I'd add an official topic for the 2012 olympics. I loved the opening ceremony yesterday night of course. It would be interesting to see how much the world got the British culture/references in the show.

World-Map levelset now fixed and uploaded
Posted by: thinker - 23-Jul-2012, 10:21 AM - Forum: General - Replies (4)

Re: World-Map levelset - which had too many problems with levels 30,31, and 32 and I was updating way too may times trying to keep and up-to-date levelset fixed...however, I took it out of commission for a week so that players wouldn't have a bad set, etc.

I have now been able to get some rest and have fixed the problemed levels - as they have been played and tested in Lynx and MS modes.

To those that downloaded the levelset when it was available previously, I'm sorry for the inconvenience!!

It sure would be nice to get some feedback on any levels that you thinks are good or bad or whatever.

  Universal Sokoban

File category: CC1 Levelsets

This is a level I have been working on for a few days and as far as I know it is complete and fully playable in both rulesets.

You do not have to download this file, for it is also in JCCLP (level 143) and JoshL2 (level 146) so I recommend you update both those sets for this level to be included in them!

Improved and fixed.

Guess which level is faster in lynx?

So I was playing CCLP2 in lynx on a bright sunny summer day, and noticed another level that could be completed faster in lynx than in ms. Guess which level it was?

My first comic, I'll just put it here because I can't put it in "comics". Chip is going through a level when he starts to see it has a hidden message. Warning: it contains a very mild insult.

  CCX for CC1
Posted by: budugoo - 16-Jul-2012, 12:27 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (3)

Can somebody please prepare a CCX file for the original CC1 chips.dat? Including all decade messages and stuff like that - for use in Tile World - if somebody can find the names of the original level creators, it would be awesome.

I am zero in all this stuff - i can only play, not design - else i would have done it myself

Samyak

P.s. I couldn't find one if it already exists - if so, please gimme a link

Hello, everyone! This is my first level set.

http://cczone.invisi.../134-chip56ccl/

(EDIT: Updated again, July 30th - see below)

I've designed levels before, back when I was a kid, but these are the first ones I've ever released into the wild. Consider them a preview of what I hope will eventually be a full 149-level set. I started this before CCLP1 was announced, and I was aiming for a similar CC1-esque aesthetic, so when the submission deadline approached I stuck all the completed levels into a mini-set (55 levels, hence the original name) and uploaded it to the Yahoo group. In my rush to meet the deadline, I left in a few mistakes, which I've corrected in this update.

The "lesson" levels are probably redundant, since I'm guessing those will be chosen outside of the normal submission process. A few of the later levels might also be a bit tricky for a beginner's set, but I think the underlying concepts are simple enough to fit in anyway. If not, consider them available for CCLP4 as well.

Here are the revisions I made:

  • Changed the direction of a force floor tile in Level 2. Very minor effect on play, but it looked ugly and was an obvious mistake.

  • Changed the sokoban area in Level 29 to make it solvable in Lynx mode.

  • Removed the time limit on Level 37 (was 750 seconds). There's plenty of time to complete the level, but nobody should ever feel compelled to optimize that, ever. Tongue

  • Fixed the ice maze in Level 45 that I somehow completely messed up and made unsolvable in the original version.

  • Added a dummy level at the end for MSCC players. I changed the name of the file from Chip55 to Chip56 to reflect that, plus it's a catchier title anyway.

I'm going to leave the old version on the Yahoo group for now, since it's after the deadline and I don't want to accidentally run afoul of the rules and take my levels out of the running, but this is the version I would like to be considered for CCLP1. I'll replace the old file if the folks in charge confirm that it's OK to do that.

As this is my first level set, any feedback would be much appreciated.
