You just have to be more precise with your button press. In Lynx, tanks only reverse when they are fully in a tile. If a tank is transitioning between tiles (or sliding), it will not be affected by any blue button presses.

there are many differences like these between MS and Lynx (example: you can't stand on a water tile if a monster goes into it (to die) even with flippers) so feel free to ask here, if you find something else unusual like this. (should I be saying that?)

on that note; I don't recall seeing a thread with a list of technical game mechanics like these outlined around here. That would be helpful
