3 New Moderators |

Hi all,
I'm happy to formally introduce the following new moderators to the CC Zone team:
The three above were instrumental in helping me sort all the file and gallery imports from the old CC Zone and will continue to assist with further migration cleanup going forward.
Moderators differ from Senior Moderators in that they are not typically involved with issuing bans or resolving disputes between users. Their role is primary housekeeping: moving, splitting and locking threads, updating broken posts from the CC Zone conversion, etc.
You may also notice a couple new roles have been added to identify those who moderate our other BitBusters.club related sites: Discord Staff, Scorekeeper and Wiki Staff. These users have no additional moderator access on CC Zone compared to a standard user.

... and rename it to "CCLP1 Discussion".
First of all, it makes no sense to have a CCLP4 Discussion forum but keep the CCLP1 one hidden. In each case, the threads provide valuable info on how that levelset was developed. And while there are some other threads in the Special forum, the vast majority are CCLP1-related, and the rest can be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.
Second, it's kind of my fault that that forum was made invisible, as a request that I'd made concerning one of the threads in it triggered that change. Had I known it was a serious possibility, I would have made my opposition to such a move clear right away. Regardless, I feel it's my duty, in a sense, to try to have this mistake corrected.

I know the password for my previous name (Gavin) but forget which email I used to sign up with, and this forum requires the email address to log in.
Also what about all the files that were uploaded to the cczone website? Have they all been transferred over here or do they all need reuploaded manually here again?

Long ago, in the bygone days of the Chip's Challenge community, one member had a simple vision: an all-in-one Chip's Challenge website. Just over a decade ago now, and after a lengthy period of planning, the site was launched. At first offering a hub for uploading levelsets, it was envisioned that eventually said sets would be integrated with scorekeeping, a discussion forum, and more. Unfortunately, the dream was not to be. Scores never made it to the site at all, and an organic forum turned out to be well beyond the sole developer's capabilities. Eventually, after over a year of existence, the original CC Zone forum moved under that domain, but in hindsight that would be the peak of that relatively brief website. Two years in, CC Zone: The Next Level was relaunched completely separately - now with levelsets and other files being under the forum instead - and the all-in-one site shut down.
For many years, that was it. The all-in-one dream was no more. Then, almost a decade later, there was a sudden burst of activity in this direction. Out of nowhere, two things happened simultaneously: within months of each other, CC site after CC site shut down, and a single website originally created simply as a new wiki host for the game collected the data from these. After the wiki (which ironically is the only one of these that did not shut down) came scores, links and levelset listings, actual levelsets, and finally this very forum. Most stunning of all, this happened within the span of a year or so.
Well, that's the history. Speaking personally now: you guys have done an absolutely incredible job. You did what I could never have achieved (as is clear now, in hindsight). At the same time, in most if not all of the cases listed above the shutdowns were obviously unplanned-for, happy coincidences that allowed this site to grow into what it is now.
Moral of the story: expect the unexpected.

Hi everyone,
I have enabled the ability for all verified community members (i.e. those in the Bit Busters group) to delete their own posts and topics. However, do note that all post deletions are considered a "soft delete", meaning the staff will always have the ability to restore such posts if the need arises.
If you are not a member of the Bit Busters group and feel you should be, please contact any administrator.

Hello everyone,
Welcome to the new CC Zone hosted at BitBusters.club. I've been working hard along side the CC Zone staff team for the last couple weeks to ensure a smooth of a transition from Invision Zone as possible. While today marks the opening of this forum, the staff will continue to be hard at work tweaking the forum settings, adding plugins where appropriate and working through some of the content issues resulting from the transfer process as times goes on.
We've done our best to preserve all uploaded content from Invision Zone, including file uploads, gallery uploads and post attachments. However, you will likely want to review your user profile, forum settings and other important content as soon as possible to ensure everything transferred correctly. Remember that the old CC Zone hosted at cczone.invisionzone.com will only be available until 1-Feb-2020 before it is deleted.
If you come across any issues with the new forum or have suggestions for possible features, please feel free to raise them in the Feedback forum. Alternatively, if you find an issue related to one specific post or thread, you can report it to flag it for staff review. Although the old CC Zone is closing on 1-Feb-2020, the server staff have access to an archived database which can be referenced as needed. Lastly, I would ask that any testing of MyBB Forum features be done on the test forum at smf.bitbusters.club rather than making test posts on this new forum. The test forum will remain available for at least a few weeks so we have an environment to test any potential new plugins.
To prevent possible spambot accounts from being transferred to the new forum, any members with 0 posts and 0 PMs have been moved to a "Pending Deletion" group for removal in the near future. If any accounts have been moved here in error, please let me know by emailing cowman133@gmail.com. Furthermore, a "Bit Busters" user group has been created for confirmed community members which has relaxed restrictions on posting, downloads, uploads and more. If you feel you belong in the Bit Busters user group, please let any administrator know.
With the forum move, the staff roster has been revised and restructured as follows:
Administrators - community managers responsible for the overall forum operations (events, staffing, bans, etc.) and the technical backend
Senior Moderators - moderate within any forum, manage community events and deal with disruptive users
Moderators - have the ability to moderate content within all forums, but are not typically involved with bans or resolving disputes
Thanks to everyone who has been involved with keeping CC Zone running successfully over the years and I look forward to many more years to come!
