Good news everyone! Andrew R. has decided to give back all the original Chip's Portal downloads, as well as resubmitting his AndrewR1 for CCLP1 voting!

This is not an April Fools joke by the way. I got an email from him yesterday about it and now he is back!

Welcome back, the REAL Andrew R.! Chip Win

I've always wanted to do this from the beginning

As I'm nearing the end of CC1, and running into the first this-will-take-forever-for-a-guy-like-me levels in CC1, I've decided to take a short break of recording from it, for a day or two, and.. start a playthrough of TomP1! Smiley

Anyways, I've played through most of TomP1 before, but mainly below the 100's. When I finish TomP1, as long as I can get past Nightmare on Block Street without trouble, I'll start TomP1Special, if it's out by the time I finish TomP1!

So, two things I have to say:

My playlist for my TomP1 vids are here:

And another thing: Rock isn't the only one who's going to struggle through the last few levels of TomP1 now. Wink

So far I have 3 levels. I am still waiting for James and Rock to finish the collab so I can put it in before the CCLP1 release date.

Thanks to a fit of indulgence in pop music, Dr. Pepper, and various adult beverages (a powerful blend, to be sure), I didn't get to bed until 6:00 this morning. I had to set my alarm for 8:30; I hit the snooze button several times and finally got up at 8:50. When I forced myself out of bed, I took a cold shower and blasted The Libertines so loud that I almost felt bad about potentially annoying my neighbors.

This is sort of a round-about way of saying that going to work today is going to suck.

File category: CC1 Levelsets

Grandiosely envisioned and hastily constructed by the CCLP1 staff as our April Fools 2012 joke. This set is not CCLP1, nor is it intended to be a vision of what CCLP1 will be like. First, last, and only version released April 1, 2012.

Ok, by now everybody knows about the CCLP1 staff's April Fools joke. I've uploaded the set as Not_CCLP1.dat both here and at the Yahoo! group.

All of the levels were taken strictly from sets submitted for CCLP1 consideration by the staff. A breakdown:

J.B. ~55

Tyler ~30

Rock ~20

Ben ~15

Dave ~15

Architect - 15

James - 1 (+ a collab)

Paul - 0 (he was with us in spirit, though)

Those last three numbers are exact, but the first few aren't. If the rest of the staff could quickly tally their totals and post them here, that would be great Tongue (I would do it but I'm not sure about the authorship of some of the levels and it would take considerably longer)

How it was made: Tyler assembled various levels from staff sets, Rock and I narrowed the number down to 149 and created the difficulty curve. The whole process I would estimate took around 5 hours, and it was all done on March 31.

In any case, I think the set is pretty decent as a whole. It has a decent difficulty curve, good level selection, and some appropriate level placements. Its main flaws are that the Cypher passwords are all invalid, that there a few bizarre level placements, and that its last level is too awesome to be put into words.

If anybody has any thoughts or questions on the set, this is the place Slight smile

Stupid websites you waste your time at

I was pretty into this back in 2008:

http://www.nationstates.net/

I eventually figured out that it was a waste of my time, but it still took me a few days to finally give it up. There's really not much to it, but it proved strangely addicting.

Right now, I'm thinking I might have to delete my account at Chesstempo. I've spent the better part of the past week working my way up to a 1514 rating, and it's not very beneficial to my productivity.
