  Walls of CC2
Posted by: random 8 - 17-Feb-2019, 7:04 PM - Forum: CC2 Level Packs - No Replies

File category: CC2 Levelsets

Templates i made for the February 2019 Create Comp. Each version contains a .c2m for each level as well as a .ccs for the whole set.

The pure version is regular, steel, and custom walls only. In the other version, i tried to pick out the most prominent tiles (in some cases i actually removed certain walls, like T-N-T Time).

Confirmed solvable? no

Idea for getting started with a level
Posted by: Gavin - 17-Feb-2019, 2:01 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (1)

Often when I make levels, it's getting started which is the tricky part. I find once I've got started the ideas just flow and I just build on it.

I have found if I try to convert one of my levels for CC1 over to CC2 as accurately as I can, I find that (due to many reasons) it just won't work in CC2. So I make little modifications to make it work and I end up with a completely different level Slight smile

For example my CC2 level 33 came about by trying to convert level 25 from CheeseT1.dat, but they are both completely different:

  CCEdit 2.0 "no tilesets found"
Posted by: bobdabaron - 16-Feb-2019, 7:38 PM - Forum: Programs and Editors - Replies (2)

I recently migrated from an old laptop to new one (both Mac), and CCEdit no longer opening, I'm getting the attached - "Error: No tilesets found. Please check your CCTools installation."

I try to reinstall from the package but get that installation warning which makes me nervous as hell about messing up my new system.

I got a package manager to peek under the hood of what's IN the .pkg, and I see the contents - both the apps, which I have in the proper folder, and the other two files, which I placed in users/shared/cctools, but I'm still getting that "no tilesets found" message :-\

has anyone that's confined to the Mac run into this before, and does anyone know of some workaround? (i.e. which files have the tiles, and where to place them)

Chip's Challenge 2/1 MSCC Redux

A fully comprehensive MSCC skin for CC2, not a single sprite or tile has not been looked over. Several of the tiles in here however are taken from other sets, the numbers are a few too many to count but basically if you made an MSCC styled CC2 sprite its probably in here.

Everything in this sheet has been reduced to the original 16 colours of the base game and all CC2 sprites have been adjusted to better fit the MSCC style.

Feel free to edit parts of this and use the tiles in your own set, I would be honoured if you did.

Issues: some tiles aren't exactly perfect, such as the foil which I couldn't get exactly right but is still somewhat MSCC, and the dirt patch tile which doesn't match its original MSCC appearance as I didn't want to give people who use smooth scrolling a seizure, logic gates remain unchanged other than colours as modifying those would A. throw people off and B. they already look fine.

Enjoy the Set!

Credits:

scutilla: for the original CC2 MS tileset that was improved heavily upon

Sickly Silver Moon: for most of the original overhaul work

Ryan J.: changes to many many tiles throughout iterations, solely responsible for the new ghost, and stay up + push down walls

ncrecc: For many new tiles and improvements including removal of animations and the new Transmogrifier and slime

The Chip's Challenge Discord Server Members: for their continued support, ideas, and suggestions for improvement

(Notably: Indy, IHNN, Chipster, Tyler, Naemuti, Flareon350, Cowman_133, Vehudur / Lessinath, Sharpeye & the other marketers; and plenty others who Chipped in to help and improve)

Ed Halley: for creating the original Microsoft tileset used in the Microsoft WEP release, without that this project wouldn't exist

And finally:

You: for taking the time to download and use this tileset, or even just consider looking at it. Without you this project would be pointless, thank you.

What's New in Version 5.0.0

Set has been updated to be much more consistent throughout and matches with everything much better now, lots of tiles changed and issues fixed, animations removed, as well as custom/cosmetic tiles and flame jets redone!

Now includes an EGA/VGA palette!

Make sure to download version 5.0!

This is my official rejects set for CC2. All levels I deemed unnecessary for my CC2 sets will be placed here.

Currently, holds 30 levels. All reasons as to what led to their rejections can be found in the comments section of the level files, though 95% of the reason is they just weren't fun and/or interesting.

Confirmed solvable? Yes
