  suggestion- a diagonal moving unit!
Posted by: Gavin - 11-Jan-2019, 4:11 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (4)

How about a bishop enemy that moves only diagonally, and when it collides with a solid object it will "bounce" off it? that would be something different.

ort we could have a Knight unit- its gimmick being it can jump over walls etc. Or some sort of enemy that can jump over tiles.

any way to convert .dat, .c2m, .pzm, and .tws into each other?
Posted by: papperboy3498 - 06-Jan-2019, 4:27 PM - Forum: Programs and Editors - Replies (6)

so I was wondering if there was any way to convert .dat, .c2m, .pzm, and .tws into each other. some kinds of conversion tools like dat2c2g, maybe recreate the files using a level editor or something else?

file information for anyone who doesn't recognize some of the files formats

.dat files: chip's challenge level set files.

.c2m files: chip's challenge 2 level set files.

.pzm files: PuzzleStudio level files.

.tws: tile world level set files.

  January 2019 Time Trial

We kick-off 2019 with a competition from 2018!

CC Zone File embed: https://cczone.invisionzone.com/files/fi.../?do=embed

The levels are Singapore
and Rainbow Refraction
by chipster1059 and Ihavenoname248 respectively. You may have already seen them from the latest create comp, but I thought they were fun enough to use here too.

A few quick things to get you started:

<ul style="background-color:#ffffff; color:#353c41; font-size:14px; text-align:start">
[*]
Deadline for the competition is February 3rd where you live.

[*]
Please send your submissions to me at valeosote at hotmail dot com.

[*]
The competition is in Lynx mode, but you can send in MS solutions as well. (Share your Super CC route too for fun.)

</ul>

At the end of the year we've usually announced when a competition is the last one in the current Chip Cup
, but as we didn't do that last month, I feel we should still include this competition in last year's Chip Cup
. Here's your last chance to improve your standings! (There are some changes coming to how these points will be handled in the future, so these will most likely also count for the new Chip Cup
too.)

I'm not copy/pasting the rest of the technical details this time from previous competitions, so ask if you have any questions.

Enjoy!

Here are some levels inspired by CCLP3 that were made for the October 2018 Mini Create Competition.

The concept was to "make about a 9x9 (or a shape that is as small as appropriate for the level) version of a level in CCLP3."

People who sumitted levels include:
Indyindeed

geodave

chipster1059

Flareon350

Ihavenoname248

M11k4

As of this first release, the set contains 45 levels, based on a quarter of the full set. Honestly, these were fun to work on. Thanks for everyone for taking part! And you know what? You can still join in and make more of these (send them to me!), and perhaps in some future on some possible time line, there exists a full set of CCLP3 made out of mini versions of levels Smiley

  Level idea
Posted by: Gavin - 02-Jan-2019, 6:27 PM - Forum: Level Discussion - Replies (1)

Remember Rodent's Revenge? How about a level in that style? You as the rodent, the chips for the cheese and walkers for the cats. CC2 has given us an ice-block we can use for this purpose.

What would be fun about these levels is they wouldn't be a level with one set solution, it would be a level that could be sovled many different ways. And you could throw a level together using this theme really quickly- eg have the player in the middle surrounded by ice-blocks which make up multiple rooms each containing one chip and one walker.

  Chip's Challenge Wiki
Posted by: Syllypryde - 01-Jan-2019, 2:26 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (3)

Is the Chip's Challenge Wiki down temporarily or permanently? I just learned it was down when I went there to look up a password for CCLP4 Level 75. I had to get a new computer and had to transfer all my CC files and score spreadsheets to the new computer. Though I have all my scores so far for CCLP4, unfortunately I never wrote down the passwords for each level I solved. I figured if I ever needed a password for a level I would look it up on the Wiki. With my progress no longer saved in TileWorld, I either have to look up the password for the level I left off on and then continue recording my scores on the spreadsheet, or start all over and resolve each level until I get back to where I left off. I really do not want to do that.
