Eighteen years - it's been a good run.
Posted by: pillowpc2001 - 29-Apr-2019, 2:19 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (8)

Well, I never would have thought I'd ever be making this post, but here it is...I have made the difficult decision to begin the process of shutting down my website.

Over the last few years I had already begun to explain my diminished presence in the CC world as due to real life, and there were moments here and there where I did manage to carve out time for certain projects (level set page changes, playing through CC2/CCLP1, designing a few new levels). But they were few and far between, and I was always just assuming that "down the road" things would slow down and I would get into a routine where I could make "real life" and "CC life" coexist.

But here we are, a few years later, and I find myself with a full-time job, a wife, a house to take care of, changing interests and priorities, and it is just seeming less and less likely that I can make that happen. Even when I do find myself with some CC time, I feel oddly divided. On the one hand, I feel like it is never enough - I get a chunk of time to solve two CCLP4 levels and wish I had more time to better optimize my scores or to continue playing. On the other hand, after playing I see household chores piling up that I should have been taking care of, and feel guilty that I even took the time that I did to play CC. Either way I look at it results in an unsatisfying feeling.

I'm not at all saying it's not fun anymore - it is - and this is not a goodbye post. Slight smile However, I might be less active than before and will not be able to keep on maintaining my site any longer.

I am open to a bankruptcy buyout Tongue if anyone would like to keep certain aspects of my site going, especially:

- the Tile World 2 homepage

- the Chip's Challenge Creator homepage

- the level set pages

and if someone really desires:

- the AVI archives

- MikeL2/3/4 scoreboards

- the page with the latest 64-bit CC options

- my listings of links

Whoever would like to take over hosting any of these pages, I will send them (and the database) to you to officially become "yours". Slight smile (For Chip's Controls I plan on re-uploading the latest version here with all the HTML pages included.)

Hope everyone is doing well - thanks for reading, and now back to your regularly scheduled Chipping.

Mike Lask

  Felix's CC2 TIleset 2.0 (colorblind friendly)
Posted by: FelixNemis - 26-Apr-2019, 12:49 AM - Forum: Chip's Challenge 2 - No Replies

Just posting this here since updating downloads doesn't take them o the top of the list or anything

I just updated my CC2 tileset to 2.0

The big new thing is everything should be easily distinguishable for all kinds of colorblindness

Chip is now Teeth

All chip's are now Chip

All Teeth are now moving bombs.

Teeth in water, Teeth in exit and Teeth in fire and burnt Teeth was taken from Teeth Challenge tileset by Jacques Smith. The rest of the edits was done by me manipulating the original tiles.bmp.

What's New in Version 1.0.2

Fixed off centre teeth (Chip) tile.

Replaced Burnt Chip and Chip in fire tiles with Burnt Teeth and Teeth in fire from Jacques Smith's Teeth's Challenge.

  CCLP(3) download help?
Posted by: Brianna - 02-Apr-2019, 6:44 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (3)

So I want to play the MS ?Windows? version of CCLP3. I've download the CCLP3 files (off this website) to my computer, but I can't figure out how to get the files to make them work with MS. I have already downloaded the original CC and CCLP2, but I don't understand (after at least a day of trying to figure it out) how to connect the CCLP3 files with the original CC game. I went to a different site and downloaded Chip's Controls (formerly ChipPlay), but I couldn't figure out how to use it. Any help would be massively appreciated. Thank you.

Chipit or Whiffit (ajmiam's first CC2 set)
Posted by: ajmiam - 01-Apr-2019, 8:58 PM - Forum: Level Discussion - Replies (1)

My first CC2 levelset is here!  A 40-level installment called "Chipit or Whiffit"!

Check the download page here for more details:

CC Zone File embed: https://forum.bitbusters.club/thread-439.html

Feel free to leave any feedback in this thread, on the download page, or by pinging me (@ajm-i-am) in the Chip's Challenge Bit Busters Club Discord server.  Also, note that all 40 of these levels are being submitted for CCLP consideration, and all 40 of them have notes under the Comments box in CC2's editor, so check those out if you're curious.

Enjoy!
