Also while going through the Yahoo files, I found that a bunch of sets are duplicated. For example, a set on the main page has an exact copy somewhere in a folder.

If the majority feels files should not be duplicated on the Yahoo page, I can message the owners to ask them to remove one.

If the majority doesn't care, we'll leave it as is.

I've been going through the Yahoo page, and noticed that a few folders have been empty and abandoned for quite some time (we're talking years for some). They are:

• Ben Wisemans Levels

• cc levels

• ncovert icon files

• Programs for Chip's Challange <sic>

• Tile World addons

Please vote on whether (1) to leave them there empty, or (2) I should delete them. Of course I will contact the owner if I do so.

Thanks!

  May 2017 Create Competition - Simply A-Maze-Ing
Posted by: Ihavenoname248 - 01-May-2017, 8:16 PM - Forum: Competitions - Replies (12)

So, hopefully the end of CCLP4 voting hasn't burned you all out! While going through the levels, I noticed that there were multiple different kinds of fun- levels that were fun to play, fun to solve, or both. Many of the best levels scratch both itches at the same time, and this is reflected in Create results. I didn't really realize this formally, however, until Walls of CCLP1, where my simpler level just couldn't go farther due to being simple to solve. I love this sort of level and I think it's underappreciated, so now it's time to focus on it!

Your task is to make a maze level. There can be other features to the level- itemswapping, puzzles, dodging and so on, but the focus of the level should be on the maze aspect. You may make your level in either CC1 or CC2, with neither being the dominant or preferred method of entry. Be creative, and make sure it's a fun experience to play!

Notes (as usual, shamelessly cribbed from Miika):

-Submissions are open through June 3rd where you live!

-The level must have the main theme of a maze. Additional sections are fine and may even add to the level if used carefully, but I want a maze!
-The level must be solvable, but does not need to work in both MS and Lynx.

-You may submit more than one entry, but please keep the levels distinct from each other. Your best two entries is recommended.
-Points may be deducted for late entries, but will be accepted until I judge the levels.

-Entrants receive the normal prizes: the "You're Winner!"-award, Chip Cup points, and "Tool Box"-award for first time entrants.
-Please ask about other unclear situations.

Email and attach your submissions to jbardonjr at charter dot net. I will strive to reply with a confirmation that I have received your entry. I prefer if you use your username and this competition in the subject. Keep it short and simple, something like: "May Create - Tyler"

I hope you don't mind me making a topic but one was not made and I really wanted to leave some comments on this pack and there's no where else to do it.

excellent levelpack so far! Lots of cool levels with unique and interesting concepts. This pack was the perfect difficulty for me. There were few levels I did not enjoy!

my favorites were:
Outbreak, shovel team, doublecross, antiswap zone, ant nest, forking paths, dual core, the dual, I have not yet finished; I will post more when I do

1-13 was a new type of puzzle to me; very interesting!

  Making level maps
Posted by: Andante - 24-Apr-2017, 7:36 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (8)

I can't seem to find this great utility I used to use all the time for making maps.

It created an ascii representation of the levels in a set, with all the important info.

Below is an example. Please let me know which utility made this, and where I can get it again! Thanks.

Hello, everyone, and thanks for taking some time to read the commentary for my second levelset, The Other 100 Tiles! (To100T for short.) I had fun reminiscing and typing up the history of Pit of 100 Tiles, and am looking forward to doing the same here.
