Greetings, fellow Chipsters!
The CCLP1 Staff has been spending the last several months diligently playtesting and evaluating all of the submissions that have poured in for CCLP1. We're almost done, but once we are, we really want to jump into the voting process. So toward that end, we'd like to open the floor for nominations for the position of voting administrator. If you are interested in applying for this role yourself, please contact us or post here. Details about how the final decision will be made will follow depending on how many people are interested, but in any case, we'd like the community to reach a consensus.
Here are some of the responsibilities of the voting administrator:
- Making sure everyone can access the voting site. In pieguy's case, this meant setting up new user accounts and resetting passwords for people that had forgotten theirs.
- Vote integrity. We had a bit of a hiccup in the first round of CCLP3 voting when a couple days of votes were lost, so after that, pieguy started taking regular backups to make sure that the results were as accurate as possible. Also, honesty and integrity while maintaining the votes is important, as well as communicating with the CCLP1 staff about any malicious or suspicious votes.
- Listening to, evaluating, and integrating feature requests. The offline voting pages in CCLP3, for example, were a fairly last minute addition. It is not the voting administrator's job to design the voting pages, just to build them.
- Data aggregation. Besides tallying up the final vote, the voting administrator needs to provide statistics to help find voting anomalies and determine how and when to perform eliminations, and generally let the rest of the staff know how voting is proceeding.
- Ability to work with a team. Being able to communicate regularly and make important decisions with the rest of the CCLP1 staff is essential.
