Posted by: Bowman - 14-May-2012, 5:10 PM - Forum: Level Discussion - Replies (7)

Bowman1 is my set, the only one I've made. I just updated it on the yahoo groups; it has 50 levels and this will be the final version of it pending some minor updates. This forum is just to get the word out about it and see what comments people may have. This set is my submission for CCLP1. Levels 27 and 32 were in CCLP3 (Good Advice and Elite, respectively).

Soooo....what do you think?

  All the Finnish Awards
Posted by: M11k4 - 13-May-2012, 12:27 AM - Forum: Awards - Replies (25)

The internet is a stupid place. Why do I care if some random site gives out awards, which are basically small icons, to its members? I don't know, but since they are there and I do qualify for a few of them, might as well ask for the ones I'm missing and after that go and earn some more. Totally pointless, but admittedly fun Slight smile

So first thanks to the staff for already awarding me a bunch of awards.

I have the ones for completing CC, CCLP2, CCLP3 in ms: [Image: 3213_cc1graduate.png][Image: cclp2graduate.png][Image: cclp3master.png]

And the ones for taking part in the competitions here, and winning with a tie and without one: [Image: workingwithhammers.png][Image: chippirate.png][Image: runchiprun.png][Image: doppelganger.png][Image: winner.png]

And a some weird ones, one which says I have played competitively (but I've already posted as many images as is allowed).

I'd ask be given these ones:

One Star Fun - I've posted more than one short review in the downloads (see pit of 100 for latest one) and will be posting more in the future.

Alternate Victory - I've completed CCLP3 in lynx (see scoreboards). I think this award is not well named. Is it hard to change to something like CCLP3 Alternate Victory?

Blobs on a Lake - did this when it was first released, but I'd rather share the route privately if necessary (just because it's nothing special).

It would also be nice to create new awards for these things, and get them too:

CC1 Alternate Victory - Having completed 148 levels in CC1 lynx

CCLP2 Blue Ribbon - Having completed 80 levels in CCLP2 lynx (which is not too simple)

(and the name would be distinct from another award for completing CCLP2 in some more lynx friendly edition, like once we agree on some standard fixes)

And maybe one for starting a blog here at CCZ?

I'm going to eventually try and earn these, in order of when I think I might get to them:

Lounging Around

Let's Fail

Let's Play

Superchip

Feeding the Teeth

Cheating Death

Through Fire and Flames

Chip Cup (assuming one is given each year)

CCLP Contributor

Trust Me

Pieguy

Melinda

Also, though I thought it would be nice to collect all of my own award requests now and later into a single thread, I don't want to feel like I'm hogging a whole thread, so if you're also from Finland, feel free to use this thread too!

An alternative to the Stupid deaths thread, this thread is designated to stupid cooks. Inspired by Michael for me to make this topic Slight smile

  Books You Should Read
Posted by: geodave - 10-May-2012, 11:45 PM - Forum: General - Replies (17)

I assume most of you have read the classics (as in Flatland, Stranger in a Strange Land, Dune and Necromancer). Here are some books you must read before you die:

Godel Escher Bach: An Eternal Golden Braid by Douglas Hofstadter

Chaos: Making a New Science by James Glieck

A Canticle for Leibowitz by Walter M. Miller, Jr.

Miracles by C. S. Lewis

What are your recommendations?

File category: CC1 Levelsets

This is Zane K's revenge levelset for any luck-based level or levelset. This set has only 8 levels, but all of them require patience, rage, patience, rage, rage, and death.

Two of these levels have been remade and are from CC1 [blobnet and Blobdance].

Bloblake has been remade, now even HARDER! [with permission from Rock]

If you have heart problems or trouble with vision, do not play. Seizures may occur - I am not responsible for any fatal results. Play at your own risk!

Enjoy - or don't. It's up to you - but you will recieve great pride from me if you manage to complete all eight levels!

-Zane/IceyLava

If you were a Super-Hero -- Which one would you be?
Posted by: geodave - 09-May-2012, 10:43 PM - Forum: General - Replies (15)

You can pick anyone from Superman to Normalman -- just be able to justify it.

I'll start -- since it's already on my facebook -- I'd be Green Lantern. I'm into the whole "save the other planets too!" thing.
