Catchphrases that haven't yet caught on

Heard this at another forum:

"Spruce up the moose"

I have no idea what it means, but it sounds friggin' awesome.

Do you wear glasses or contact lenses? I wear glasses only when I'm watching something or using the computer. What about you? Slight smile

Actually, I think that about sums it up for me.

How important is the title of a level?
Posted by: BitBuster - 17-Jan-2012, 4:06 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (130)

I'm a sucker for a good level name. You Can't Teach An Old Frog New Tricks is hilarious (and this coming from someone who normally hates puns/wordplay), and so are monikers like Pain (because it is), Lemmings, etc. The original CC expanded my vocabulary a bit (and I was shocked to find out that "Yorkhouse" is apparently not a real word).

Sometimes they're really important aesthetic decisions; "Caves" turns a somewhat visually bland level into something that's actually very entertaining to play (I'm not saying that it's not a good puzzle in and of itself, just that the title adds something).

...so, what do you think about tomorrow's Wikipedia/Reddit blackout?
Posted by: BitBuster - 17-Jan-2012, 1:17 PM - Forum: General - Replies (21)

Personally, I'm disappointed that more websites aren't doing this. A 24-hour Facebook blackout would galvanize even the most politically apathetic Internet user.

(Maybe this isn't such a big issue at this forum since only a few of us are from the States...)

  Josh's Ice Block Set [JoshL4?]
Posted by: Flareon350 - 16-Jan-2012, 10:47 PM - Forum: Under Construction - Replies (16)

Hello everyone. I am here posting this to inform that I will be making a levelset (possibly titled JoshL4) that will be mainly focused on the use of the ice block, which I'm sure everyone is aware of.

Anyway, I plan to have around 60 levels in this set, with every level having at least 1 ice block that must be used. I don't know if the ice block can be used in Lynx mode, if not the set will obviously not be Lynx-compatible. As soon as this is confirmed, I might make the set have invalid tiles too. I don't plan this set to be considered for any future CCLP anyways.

Post your guy's thoughts! Feedback is highly appreciated!

Which of the two do you prefer? I like Macs but have gotten so used to PCs I don't think I could make the switch on a permanent basis. You? Teeth

Possible new glitch in Tile World Lynx -- Clone Desynchronization
Posted by: ajmiam - 16-Jan-2012, 10:27 PM - Forum: Programs and Editors - Replies (16)

Hello everyone! New here...

Anyway, I was in the process of building and testing my first levelset when I saw something odd occur in one level as I tested it in Lynx mode. As you can see in

video, two fireballs that are supposed to be cloned at the same time end up appearing at different times. This occurs consistently whenever I test the level; it is not a fluke. It occurs in both Tile World and Tile World 2. Does anyone know whether this a glitch, or just a faithfully emulated quirk of the original Lynx game?

I'm posting this because I didn't find anything about it mentioned on the forums, newsgroup or Chip Wiki. Has anyone else seen anything like this?

Might as well put Rock-Beta there
Posted by: rockdet - 16-Jan-2012, 7:48 PM - Forum: Under Construction - Replies (19)

It's my new set, which I've been working on through the last few weeks. Of course, it's just starting, I have 15 levels right now, but I expect to have some previews available for you guys around the beginning of April. If you have some ideas you'd like to see returning from Rock-Alpha, feel free to let me know, and we'll discuss about it Slight smile
