As it turns out, I had more ideas, even after extending JoshL6. Tongue I cannot promise I won't make any more CC1 levels anymore.

This is my 7th levelset in the JoshL series! Contains 70 brand new levels compatible and solvable in both MS and Lynx rulesets! Various levels here once again, use wall configurations seen in other sets. Few feature somewhat new concepts that I personally haven't seen done before. Very few were designed for create competitions. Even fewer were even re-designed or re-purposed from an older set in some way! And of course... there's mazes! Lots of them.

Overall, I'm very pleased with how this set turned out! I did my best with the ordering and I tried to explore areas I particularly don't tackle in level design much anymore, such as monster manipulation and fairly difficult puzzles that aren't annoying to play over.

I'm very excited to hear some feedback on these.

I hope you enjoy! Feedback thread can be found here.

What's New in Version 1.7

Apparently there was never a socket in ^2 (25) so now there is one.

So any plans for a CC2 fan levelpack?

It's something we haven't done yet, and there are still enough of us to pull it off and make it worthwhile Slight smile

Note that there are 2 files: the regular one and the "pure" one. The regular one tries to leave in something wall-like when there aren't enough walls. The pure one does not, and also removes all the buried wall tiles.

See the competition thread for details.

What better way to announce your (semi) last CC1 set's release than with a trailer for it?

  slide1.wav?
Posted by: ncrecc - 11-Feb-2018, 1:31 PM - Forum: Chip's Challenge 2 - Replies (1)

There's a sound effect called slide1.wav in the game files for both CC2 and the Steam version of CC1, yet it doesn't seem to play anywhere in the games. The first second is just slide.wav (the normal sliding loop), then it's slide.wav randomly decreasing and increasing in frequency as instances of splash.wav play over it, then it ends with one more second of slide.wav and two seconds of silence. Can this actually be heard anywhere in CC1 or CC2, or is it just unused?

  My official level pack!

http://cczone.invisionzone.com/files/file/651-gavind_cc2zip-110/

20 levels

- Added a .c2g file

- Removed a couple of poor levels, added some new levels and tidied up some existing levels

I have tried to keep frustration to a minimum, so unlike my CC1 levelset there is no snatching a chip from a ball confined to 2 spaces for example.

51 custom levels for CC2 by Gavin Duncan.

All are solvable, including collecting all the bonus flags.

I give consent for the levels to be considered for any community level pack.

See also CheeseT1. dat my custom set for CC1.

Enjoy!

What's New in Version 1.4.0

51 levels.

Removed the use of the shortcut in level 17 which allowed the level to be solved very quickly, this was not the intented solution. I have uploaded a map of the level to help you plan out a solution.

Just noticed a change in blue tank behaviour CC1 to CC2
Posted by: Gavin - 06-Feb-2018, 9:26 AM - Forum: Chip's Challenge 2 - Replies (4)

In CC1 (MS version) if a blue tank is moving and then stops when it touches an obstacle (say a chip), if that chip was then taken away the tank would remain stationary, but in CC2 the tank will continue moving after the chip was taken.

  The Walls of CCLP2
Posted by: mobius - 04-Feb-2018, 4:15 PM - Forum: Under Construction - Replies (11)

A brand new CC2 level pack by mobius, Inspired by Joshua Bone's "Walls of CC1" I decided to take on a similar project; for CCLP2!

All of these levels are modeled directly after the levels from CCLP2 (the first big community pack of CC1). My overall rules and goals aren't exactly like Josh's WOCC1. I haven't always kept the level size 32x32 or left the walls untouched. But every level I've either tried to keep the basic overall shape or use a similar concept but CC2-ify it. Hopefully those familair with CCLP2 may be able to recognize the levels. The levels will be in the same order as the original pack so the difficulty curve may be all over the place as I'm not really trying to order the levels based on this; but since many of the earlier levels of CCLP2 were smaller and simpler these beginning levels ended up rather easier anyway.

There are no tutorial levels however; I recommend getting a at least a decent understanding of the game mechanics before playing.

CCLP2 was probably the first custom pack I played back in the day so this is very nostalgic for me. I also found it incredibly helpful for getting into making new levels again; after a very long writer's block. It was a very fun project and I definitely will be continuing it. There are currently 26 levels complete. The end goal is all 149; though I have no idea if I will be able to complete it or when.

Thanks to Josh for the idea and other people here at CCZone for playing and giving feedback and advice. All feedback is welcomed, positive or negative. If a level is too easy or too hard; especially if it's busted, unfair or doesn't work properly I want to know.
