I am curious what would happen if you put in IDs for blocks that didn't exist (like walls, chips, monsters, etc) in levels. Of course, excluding the main unused blocks that are more-or-less technical-based...
I'm sorry if that grammar was odd. I'm just curious.

Yes. You must modify ChipEdit.ini. The tile index is 255.

If you try to add any other transparent tiles (i.e. monsters, keys, boots on white space) or masks, I believe they just turn into the standard bug north on a white background when you play the level. However, you can create these other tiles using data resetting, by resetting the level number.

In Tile World, they are always displayed like walls in both Lynx and MS.

I'm afraid they can't because they are used for transparency...
But there are still two unused tiles that can be modified.
