That wasn't because of optimization at all, it was to encourage people to solve the set without relying on walkthroughs.
You should probably be playing CC2LP1.

I speculate that their will be a tie on the leaderboards (James' Site) between possibly pieguy, J.B., and Andrew, in which their scores will be the same as Melinda's.

I speculate that there will be a Troll-Tier 1 level that "snook through voting" with boatloads if random elements, making calculating the Melinda Score (let alone achieving it) all but impossible.

I speculate that there will be more 'Nuts and Bolts' type levels in CCLP1 than in CC1, but less of those dreadful ice maze levels.
