Who does math that way anymore, anyway? Elementary schoolchildren?

I'd rather get detention than lose my rights to use a calculator like everyone else does in REAL LIFE.

Actually, doing it in your head helps the concept of thinking and keeps your brain active, connections and all this fancy stuff so that you don't become retarded at the age of 55.

(Maybe that escalated a lil' too quickly there, didn't it?)

Anyway, I do the math in my head most of the time IRL.

Speaking of which, the Android alarm clock app that I mentioned in the other thread requires me to solve 4 math problems before any snoozing or turning it off. It's all good until I run into something multiplied by 13, which was the times table I never memorized. It takes about 40 seconds to do on average, which by that time, the music has played long enough to get me awake enough to get up right then.

Okay, I forgot how much this thread was de-railed from the original discussion.

LOL I was bored that morning...

But that is quite useful when you don't have a calculator handy.

Even when you do have a calculator on hand, performing a calculation mentally may still be faster than the mere act of pulling out said calculator and plugging in the numbers.

Don't worry, I do math in my head a lot too when I don't have a calculator right there. Slight smile

Also, I like the idea of a math alarm clock. Maybe I'd stop oversleeping with that.
